    Terms and Conditions & Refund Policy

     

    Car Hire

    Amendments: All amendments prior to collection should be processed through Auto Europe directly. Auto Europe do not charge an amendment fee, unless applied by the supplier. Amendments are subject to supplier availability and will be repriced to the current rate at the time of amendment, regardless of the change. In some cases, travel agent charges will also apply.

    Cancellations: For bookings cancelled more than 48 hours prior to collection to collection, there is NO cancellation fee. All cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled pickup time are non-refundable.

    No-Shows/Non-Collection Fees: A fee of NZD$150.00 plus supplier-levied fees apply to all Car Hire bookings that are cancelled after collection, denied at pick up or marked as a non-collection.

    This fee applies but is not limited to:

    • Bookings cancelled after the reserved collection time.
    • If you have failed to collect by the confirmed time and your booking is considered a non-collection by the supplier.
    • Rentals denied due to not providing a full, valid, physical drivers license in the main driver’s name noted on the Auto Europe voucher. Digital licenses are not accepted.
    • Rentals denied due to not providing a valid, physical credit card in the main driver’s name noted on the Auto Europe voucher. Digital cards are not accepted.
    • Rentals denied due to insufficient funds for security deposit.
    • Failing to provide an international driver’s license (when applicable) in conjunction with your full driver’s license.

    Payment:

    • Where bookings are made by credit card, a credit card fee of 1.8% for Visa & MasterCard payments, and 3.0% for American Express payments will apply to all pre-paid charges.
    • Refer to terms and conditions of your booking for further information as product terms may vary.
    • Payment is required immediately upon confirmation.
    • Refer to your valid invoice for your specific payment due date.
    • Important: The car hire booking will be cancelled with the supplier if payment is not received by the invoice due date.

    Supplier non-collection fees vary and in some cases are 100% non-refundable. Please enquire with Auto Europe for further information regarding non-collection fees.

    Travel Documents: Once payment is received, a travel voucher will be issued. For special requests e.g. child seat, ski rack etc and /or specialty vehicles, a travel voucher is issued upon full payment and once confirmation has been received from the supplier. Please note vouchers are accountable documents and serve as exchange vouchers for products you have booked. Non-presentation of your vouchers may result in charges being applied locally. There are some instances however where documentation is not required. This will be advised at time of reservation.

    Refunds: No refund will be made on any part of a package provided and not used; this includes unused car hire days. Auto Europe does not authorise the employees of any supplier to promise refunds to clients.

    Kindly be advised that Auto Europe New Zealand does not accept payment by cash or cheque.

    Quote Validity: Car Hire quotes are not permitted.

    Renault Eurodrive

    Amendments: No changes can be made within 30 days of pick up. All amendments are subject to availability and will be repriced. No name changes are permitted once a booking has been confirmed. For further information please contact Auto Europe.

    Cancellations:

    • Cancellation 31 days or more before delivery date: No penalty
    • Cancellation 30 days or less before delivery date and registered: EUR 1,000
    • Cancellation 30 days or less before delivery date and not registered: EUR 300
    • No Show or cancellation on date of delivery: Full prepaid amount of the contract, there is no refund. (Note: No show fee also applies if cancelled at delivery if no longer needing the car or does not meet client’s expectations)

    Payment: From 30 July 2025, Auto Europe requires full Payment upon confirmation. All vehicles are on request and subject to confirmation. Late bookings are not guaranteed. For bookings within 6 weeks of delivery, all lease forms, payment, and necessary documentation are required immediately. Late return of lease forms may delay delivery of your vehicle. A credit card fee of 1.8% for Visa & MasterCard payments, and 3.0% for American Express payments will apply to all pre-paid charges.

    Refunds: No refund for unused days or early return of the Renault vehicle.

    Kindly be advised that Auto Europe New Zealand does not accept payment by cash or cheque.

    Motorhome Rentals

    Amendments: All amendments are subject to availability and will be repriced. Amendments made within 30 days of collection may result in cancellation and rebook by the supplier. For further information please contact Auto Europe.

    In the case of postponing the travel dates on a booking with a Deposit only, the original travel dates will be used to determine the Payment due date of the final balance.

    Cancellations: For all motorhome rentals, a $250.00 cancellation fee will apply if cancelled outside 70 days prior to pick up. Cancellation less than 70 days may result in a 100% cancellation fee, depending on the supplier. In some cases, travel agent charges will also apply. Non-collection fees also apply.

    Deposit: A minimum non-refundable deposit of 35% of rental is required in order to request & confirm for all bookings made outside of 70 days of collection. Supplier levied deposits may be required and/or may be non-refundable; this information will be advised at time of reservation.

    Payment: Full and Final payment is due 70 days prior to collection. If for any reason full payment is not received by the due date, DriveAway reserve the right to treat the reservation as a cancellation.

For special requests e.g. child seat, camping equipment etc, a travel voucher is issued upon full payment and once confirmation has been received from the supplier. Please note vouchers are accountable documents and serve as exchange vouchers for products you have booked. Non-presentation of your vouchers may result in charges being applied locally. There are some instances however, where documentation is not required. This will be advised at time of reservation.

    Refunds: No refund will be made on any part of a package provided and not used: this includes unused motorhome rental days. Auto Europe does not authorise the employees of any supplier to promise refunds to clients.
